Marach

Type: House of the Danemar

The House of Marach is one of the three noble houses of the Danemar. The House of Marach was historically the priestly house of the Danes, and was second in hierarchy and rank to the House of Belor.  The House of Marach was chosen to be the house that focuses on building temples and establishing the priestly orders. In the beginning the faith of the Danemar was centered around the worship of Sophia and the other Aeons of the Gaeatoic Faith, but as time progressed, worship of the other gods to include Tyr, Silvanus, and the Six, especially Celeborn, Zemira, Finduilen, and Faeryl, became the dominant faiths of the Danemar. They forgot their roots and origin stories. This is the great failure of House of Marach.

The House of Marach was founded by the Apostle Marach of Sophia. Marach was the only matriarch of any of the twelve houses of the Danes. Marach was a priestess and apostle of Sophia, one of the lower Aeons (gods) of the Gaeatos, the Gaeatoic faith.

Marach lived in the area of Arnor in the year 3113-3379 and established her House among the great men of the Danes. In those days the faith of Gaeatos was the predominate faith of the Danes and many temples were erected to the Aeons and alters to the Luminaries.  She was an Apostle of Sophia, the highest clergy rank within the faithful of Gaeatos.  An Apostle of the Aeons was a person of significant religious authority and their voice carried the wisdom and weight of the Gods.
